8.1 Guidelines on SIWES Program
- Placement: Departments and SIWES coordinators are responsible for placing students in relevant industries.
- Duration: 4 months of supervised industrial training, typically during the third semester of ND programs.
- Evaluation: Based on:
- Employer’s evaluation form
- Student’s logbook entries
- Technical report submitted after training
- Grading: SIWES is a 4-credit course and must be passed for graduation.
- Score Interpretation:
- Excellent: 70–100%
- Good: 60–69%
- Fair: 50–59%
- Poor: Below 50%
- Institution-Based Supervisor: Assigned to monitor student progress and provide feedback.
- Stipends: Students may receive stipends based on federal guidelines and availability of funds.
8.2 SIWES as a Curriculum Component
- SIWES is integrated into the ND curriculum and contributes to the overall academic performance.
- Students must submit their technical reports within one month of returning to campus.
