2.0 Academic Programs
Academic programs include instructional, research, and public service activities such as SIWES, internships, and cooperative education.
2.1 Program Levels
- ND I (100 Level)
- ND II (200 Level)
- HND I (300 Level)
- HND II (400 Level)
2.2 Structure & Duration
- Course Unit System (CUS) on semester basis
- Minimum duration: 4 semesters; Maximum: 8 semesters
- Regular programs: 2 semesters/year; Part-time: 3 semesters/year
2.3 Credit & Contact Hours
- Regular students: 15–25 credit units/semester
- Non-regular students: 10–15 credit units/semester
- Max contact hours: 30 (regular), 25 (non-regular)
- Minimum class attendance: 75%
2.4 SIWES
- Mandatory for ND students
- 4-month industrial attachment
- Graded based on logbook, employer evaluation, and technical report
- Required for graduation
2.5 General Studies & Entrepreneurship
Students must pass required GNS and ENT courses. Examples include:
- GNS 101 – Use of English I
- GNS 111 – Citizenship Education I
- ENT 126 – Introduction to Entrepreneurship
2.6 Admission Requirements
ND Programs
- Minimum age: 16 years
- UTME score + 5 credits including English & Math
- Acceptable qualifications: WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, GCE O-Level
HND Programs
- SSCE/GCE/NABTEB with 5 credits
- ND certificate with at least Lower Credit
- Minimum 1-year post-ND industrial experience
Other Policies
- No name change after admission
- Verification of entry qualifications required
- Falsification leads to expulsion or withdrawal
