History of HAFED Poly Kazaure The Polytechnic came into being in December 1991, the year Jigawa State was created by the Federal Government to provide opportunities for educational advancement of its citizens. The Polytechnic was named Jigawa State Polytechnic by edict No. 1 of December 1991 with four colleges spread across the state (College of Engineering and Technology and the Central Administration at Kazaure, College of Business and Management Studies at Dutse, College of Islamic Studies and Legal Studies at Ringim and College of Agriculture at Hadejia). Hajiya Rabi Ishaq was the pioneer Rector of the Polytechnic who served from January 1992 to February 1994. She was succeeded by Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar who served from April 1994 to November 1999. It was during his tenure that the Polytechnic was renamed Hussaini Adamu Polytechnic in order to immortalize the late emir. Muhammad Abubakar was succeeded by Dr. Mas’ud Adamu Kazaure who served from December 1999 to October 2010. It was during his tenure in 2007 the Federal Government took over the Polytechnic, hence the name Hussaini Adamu Federal Polytechnic. Dr. Mas’ud Kazaure was succeeded by Abdullahi MaikudiNuhu who served in acting capacity from 27th October 2010 to 27th July, 2011. Dr. Kabiru Ibrahim Matazu, mni, was appointed as the Rector after Abdullahi Maikudi Nuhu by President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Dr. GoodluckEbele Jonathan from 23rd December, 2011 to 22nd December, 2015. Mrs. Gaji Bello Hussaini served as acting Rector from 23rd December, 2015 to 27th November, 2016. The incumbent Rector of the Polytechnic is Dr. Sabo wada Dutse, he was appointed by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR with effect from 4th November, 2021 to date
